PILA offers a wide range of training and technical assistance programs that target community based organizations that serve low-income immigrant communities in the Bay Area. We work with organizations with diverse issue focus and ethnic communities served, and strive to include a mix of service providers and organizing groups, emerging and more established organizations.
• Our intensive 6-12 month programs are designed for organizations involve their constituents in civic and political participation, leadership development, and that have an interest in expanding or deepening that component of their work. PILA’s selection process ensures that partner organizations must demonstrate commitment and the capacity to fully participate in the program. It is necessary that partners involve individuals at multiple levels of the work, from front-line staff implementing civic and political activities, to key leadership and decision makers and selected community members active with organization. • Our periodic trainings and events are designed for organizations that may not be in a position to make a long-term commitment to one of our more intensive programs. For these events, we reach out to organizations that are interested in learning from the experience of PILA partners, or those that want to learn how to apply PILA's leadership development and voter education tools .
