In addition to the complete toolkits PILA develops for
broad dissemination of our curricula, PILA offers specific tools and materials
to support community-based organizations in building immigrant leadership and
increasing civic participation. Below are a few examples of curriculum materials you can download.
From Personal to Political - Timeline Exercises
Timeline exercises are a great way for people to share stories of their lives and experiences and place them into political and economic context. In addition, timeline exercises can illustrate the potential power that grassroots community leadership has on larger political systems. Over the years, PILA has developed and adopted a few timeline tools to use and share in its capacity building programs.
